Abed graduated from Coventry University with honours in 1995. He was admitted to the Israeli Bar in 1998 and later to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2003. In 2006 Abed was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors by the Law Society of Northern Ireland and in 2009 he was awarded a Master of Laws in Human Rights, Criminology and Criminal Justice by Queens University Belfast.
Abed specialises in the areas of Immigration and Asylum Law. In 2005 he was admitted to the Register of Senior Caseworkers and Supervisory Solicitors in relation to Asylum and Immigration Law. In 2011 Abed was awarded a certificate in Advanced Advocacy by the Law Society of Northern Ireland and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Abed is also highly experienced in the areas of Criminal Law, Family Law, Human Rights and Equality Law. Throughout his career Abed has represented clients before the Industrial Tribunals and Fair Employment Tribunal, liaising with the Labour Relations Agency and negotiating settlements and compromise agreements. He has developed a thriving practice in private and business immigration cases involving specialist casework, research and representations before the Immigration Tribunal.
Abed has been a strong advocate of Human Rights for immigrants and has represented a range of business and private clients by successfully challenging Home Office decisions.
