Non EU Citizens
If you are a non-EEA national and you are currently working, living, studying or seeking refuge in the UK, you may be considering applying for settlement in the UK.
If you have a Settlement Visa, also known as Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK, you can reside in the UK for a longer period, with fewer restrictions.
Indefinite Leave to Remain
You may be eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain if your partner or dependant children are British citizens. You may also be able to apply if you are settled in the UK, have refugee leave or humanitarian status. If your fiancee or proposed civil partner is a British citizen or is settled in the UK and you intend to get married or register within 6 months of your arrival in the UK, are over 18 and meet the language requirements then you will be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
