Applying for a Visitor Visa in the UK
Whether you are coming to the UK for an extended holiday, to visit family, for medical treatment or for any other reason you should first consider whether you require a Visitor’s Visa and if you satisfy the requirements for obtaining a Visa.
Our expert Immigration solicitors can advise you on your eligibility for a Visitor Visa and make an application on your behalf.
Requirements for Obtaining a Visitor Visa
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they will be able to support themselves during their visit and that they have sufficient funds to cover the costs of return or onward travel. Additionally, applicants must be able to prove that they will leave the UK upon the expiration of their Visa.
Documents and Information to be Provided
Applicants must provide a valid passport. Additional documents may be required if you are visiting the UK for medical treatment, to apply as an organ donor, as an academic or as a prospective entrepreneur.
Applicants must also provide dates they are planning to travel and details of where they are staying. You may also be asked to provide details of the cost of your trip and how much you earn per year. If an applicant is under 18 years of age they must provide written consent from their parent or guardian as well as an address of where they will be staying and proof that they have sufficient funds to support themselves without having to use public funds.
Visiting for Private Medical Treatment
Applicants applying to visit the UK for private medical treatment must prove that they have a medical treatment that requires treatment in the UK, that they have paid for a consultation or treatment, that they have sufficient funds to pay for treatment and support themselves without using public funds, that they will leave the UK once treatment is complete and that they are not a danger to public health if they are suffering from an infectious disease.
